01 July 2020
Dear valued guest,
Our number one priority is your health, safety and well-being. Rest assured, our team has been monitoring the evolving global impact of the coronavirus (COVID‑19) and are paying close attention to recommendations from Scottish Government as we take every additional measure to ensure your safety and protection while you stay with us.
We wanted to update you on the actions we have taken in response to the outbreak.
Protecting you during your stay
As always, we take great care in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our hotel and apartments.
We have supplemented these normal procedures with additional COVID-19 cleanliness-specific guidance, training and information to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous:
- Our team is receiving ongoing briefings and enhanced operating/cleaning protocols.
- We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas including lobbies, stairwells, door handles, public bathrooms and even room keys.
- Additions to our normal high standard, cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives have been increased, with particular attention paid to high-touch items.
- In the spaces where team members work behind the scenes, we have increased the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like team entrances, laundry rooms and back offices.
- We will continue to adjust food and beverage service in accordance with current food safety recommendations.
- We have increased the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitisers throughout our properties.
For more detailed information on our procedures please read:
OUR APPROACH TO CORONAVIRUS
We have also taken advice from Outer Hebrides Tourism and, with the safety of our guests and the community uppermost in our minds, added the following to our terms and conditions:
COVID symptoms during your stay
In the unlikely event that you or one of your party develop symptoms of COVID-19 and Government guidance or regulation prevents you from travelling home as planned, we will permit you to extend your stay for the period of isolation required by the Government at the same nightly rate as you paid in your original booking.
Cancellation on our part due to COVID
We may need to cancel your booking at short notice due to COVID-19 (e.g. for an outbreak on the island, return to lockdown, or the guests before you having to self-isolate). In such cases, our liability to you will be limited to returning all monies received by us for your booking (or moving your booking plus money paid to another suitable date).
Guidelines and restrictions are changing, sometimes daily, so please check the Scottish Government website and NHS Inform for all the current information about the Coronavirus, any related restrictions, what symptoms to be aware of and what to do in the event that you need to self-isolate.

Tarbert Ferry Terminal
Tarbert Ferry Terminal is currently undergoing extensive redevelopment in order to accommodate a larger ferry in the future.
Although every effort is being made on site to minimise disruption, there is an increased level of activity at the ferry port during working hours, and occasionally at other times due to working around the tide and ferry timetable.
Ferry sailings to and from Tarbert are unaffected by the work.
Kirklea Island Suites

We highly recommend booking ferries
Caledonian MacBrayne recommend booking as far in advance as possible on all bookable routes. Reservations for summer sailings usually open late December/early January. Winter reservations usually open around late August/early September.
